The Virax 262671 Filetfix® III Thread Sealant is a professional anaerobic resin sealant designed for secure sealing of threaded pipe connections. Suitable for gas, water, air and petroleum systems, it provides a reliable sealing solution for plumbers, heating engineers and mechanical contractors working on suitable metal threaded fittings.

Filetfix® III can be used on threaded connections in contact with town gas, natural gas, LPG, hot water, drinking water, air and petroleum products. Its fast-acting formula allows repositioning shortly after application while delivering strong sealing performance under pressure when used according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

Professional Anaerobic Thread Sealant

This high-performance thread sealant is designed to polymerise within the threaded connection, helping create a durable seal for demanding trade applications. It is especially useful where a clean, controlled and efficient alternative to traditional thread sealing methods is required.

When applied to a Ø1" pipe installation at 20°C, sealing can be achieved after approximately 5 minutes, with resistance up to 50 bar under stated application conditions.

Application Guidance

Before applying Virax Filetfix® III, make sure the threaded parts are clean, degreased and dry. A dry solvent such as acetone may be used for preparation where suitable.

• For threads below 2" diameter: apply a bead of Filetfix® III to the first two threads of the male section.
• For threads 2" diameter and above: apply to the first four threads and to the female part.
• Assemble the two parts and tighten using normal tools.
• Wipe off excess product thoroughly after assembly.
• After assembly and drying, do not unscrew the joint as this may affect the seal.

Important Usage Notes

• Do not use on pure oxygen circuits.
• Do not use on steam circuits.
• Do not use on plastic materials.
• For brass couplings on hot water circuits, preliminary testing is recommended.
• Complete polymerisation is achieved after approximately 24 hours, or 72 hours for stainless steel.
• Polymerisation occurs from 5°C.
• Filetfix® III cannot compensate for faults or damage in the threaded fitting.
• Maximum gap should be less than 0.3mm.
