Over 35 years ago, Alan Archer laid our foundation as a small plumbing wholesale outfit called Select International. Fast forward to about 15 years ago, and his son, Reid, joined forces—sparking the creation of Trade Counter Direct. What began as a modest eBay venture has evolved into one of today’s leading online tool stores, boasting over 75,000 products.
We may be a compact team based in picturesque Paignton, Devon, but we punch well above our weight. Reid Archer leads a passionate group dedicated to delivering not just a huge range of tools, but also unrivalled service.
In 2022, we began a new chapter by merging with our sister company SPI to form the master company, Select Trade Brands. SPI is particularly renowned in the plumbing sector for its unique, in-house developed plumbing tools, which are supplied all across the UK. This growing brand in the plumbing community slots neatly into our line-up of top-quality brands for professional tradespeople, further strengthening our mission to provide everything you need under one roof.
