Description

The RIDGID Model 1224 Threading Machine (26112) is a heavy-duty pipe threading system designed for professional workshops, fabrication facilities and plumbing contractors. Built for durability and precision, it can thread pipes from ¼″ to 4″ (8–100 mm) and up to 6″ (150 mm) when used with the optional RIDGID 161 Geared Threader.

Powered by a 1.1 kW single-phase induction motor, the Model 1224 provides smooth, quiet operation while maintaining the torque required to thread demanding materials. It handles a wide range of pipe types including black pipe, galvanised pipe, plastic-coated pipe, stainless steel, IMC and heavy-wall conduit, as well as threaded rod up to 30 Rockwell C hardness.

A two-speed gearbox delivers 36 RPM for pipes up to 2″ and 12 RPM for larger pipes from 2½″ to 4″, ensuring optimal cutting performance and thread accuracy. The through-die-head oiling system, combined with a self-priming gerotor pump, delivers constant lubrication directly to the dies and workpiece, improving thread finish and extending die life.

For safe and precise operation, the machine includes a hammer-type chuck with replaceable rocker-action jaw inserts, a cam-action rear centering device, and a heavy-duty rotary forward/off/reverse switch with integral footswitch control.
